One item, wildly different jobs
The item has to work for someone on their feet all day and someone at a desk all day. That narrows it usefully: drinkware, bags, and anything pocket-sized. Sticky notes and pens rank high here because every department uses them regardless of role. Insulated tumblers work across the whole building.

Infection control has a say
