About this item

Ceramic Coffee Mug

The standard 11 ounce ceramic mug, still the item that sits on more desks than anything else in promotional products. With a 12-piece minimum and a price that falls under two dollars at volume, it is the easiest branded gift to justify at almost any budget.

Who buys an 11 oz mug in bulk

Offices stocking a break room, real estate and insurance agents handing out client gifts, churches and schools selling at fundraisers, and companies sending a welcome box to new hires. A dozen covers a small team. Two thousand covers a trade show season.

Using the wrap area well

The print area is large enough for a logo plus a line of copy, such as a phone number, a slogan or a website. This mug is decorated by sublimation or pad print. Sublimation handles full-color art and photos across the wrap. Pad print is the usual route for a clean one or two color logo. Your free proof shows exactly where the art lands relative to the handle.

Nine price breaks, explained

At 12 mugs the price is $7.25 each, or $136.00 with the $49 setup, about $11.33 per mug. At 72 it is $3.67 each and $313.24 in total. At 144 the run is $452.16, which is still under $500, so setup applies and the order is $501.16. At 288 the mugs drop to $2.73, the run is $786.24 and setup is waived. The bottom tier is $1.78 at 2,016.

The practical takeaway: a 144-piece order sits just short of the waiver. Adding another product to the same order can push the total past $500 and remove the setup.

Timing a mug order

Production is about 10 business days after proof approval, plus shipping. For a holiday gift or a conference booth, start the quote three weeks out.

Why does the price fall so far between 12 and 288?

Most of the drop happens in the first few breaks. By 288 the per-mug cost, setup included, is roughly a quarter of the 12-piece figure.

Can a phone number go under the logo?

Yes. The wrap area is sized for a logo plus one line of copy, and the proof shows how both fit.
