About this item

Henley Shirt

A short sleeve henley, meaning a collarless shirt with a short button placket at the neck, sold as a decorating blank. It looks a step more deliberate than a plain tee without becoming a polo, which suits brands that want staff to look put together in a room where a collar would be overdressed.

Where a henley works as a uniform

Cafes, breweries, shops and hospitality teams are the typical buyers. Servers, baristas and taproom staff get a shirt that reads as a uniform without the stiffness of a collar. Retail brands also sell it as merchandise, since the placket makes it look less like a giveaway tee.

Logo placement around the button placket

Decoration options are screen print and direct-to-garment print. The placket runs down the center of the chest, so most henley orders put the logo on the left chest or across the back rather than dead center on the front. A small one or two color mark on the chest suits screen print. A detailed or multi-color back design works well with direct-to-garment. Decoration is quoted separately, and your free proof shows how the art sits next to the buttons.

The big step is from 80 to 400

At the 80-piece minimum the blank is $10.97 each, $877.60 for the run. That already clears $500, so the $49 setup is waived. At 400 the price falls to $8.41 ($3,364.00), about 23% less per shirt. After that the curve flattens hard: $8.05 at 3,000, $7.95 at 5,000 and $7.57 at 100,000. For most restaurant groups and shops, the real choice is 80 or 400.

Fifteen business days to produce

Production takes 15 business days after proof approval, plus shipping. Opening a new location or rolling out a uniform refresh, start the quote about five weeks before staff need to wear it.

What is the minimum order?

80 shirts.

Can the logo go on the front center?

The placket sits there, so the left chest or the back is usually the better spot. The proof shows the options.
