Graduation is the easiest event on this list to plan and one of the most often rushed. The date has been fixed since the start of the academic year and the headcount is known to within a handful, yet a striking number of these orders arrive four weeks out.
Two buyers, two products
The institution buys the keepsake handed to every graduate — usually drinkware, a frame, or something with the year on it. The alumni office buys the thing that starts a lifelong relationship, which is a different, better item aimed at a much smaller group.
